Keeping the Music Alive ... Best of the 1960s and 1970s

Biographical Information

Cover bands are abundant, yet there is one that stands out from the crowd. Based in Orlando, Florida, Johnathan is a solo guitarist/vocalist, one-man band. His easy-breezy style pleases audiences of all ages. Johnathan primarily plays a variety of soft rock classic hit songs from the 1960s and 1970s as well as more recent tunes.

Johnathan's style and song selections have been greatly influenced by such bands as The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Seals and Crofts, America, and The Eagles to name a few. Although he performs as a solo act, if you listen closely, you'll hear two and three-part vocal harmonies in addition to his smooth lead vocals. To accomplish this he uses a vocal harmony sound processor. His virtual backup musicians come to life through a MIDI sound module, music sequencer, and laptop computer.

Johnathan has played in various musical groups, i.e., duets, trios, and four-piece cover bands around Florida throughout the 1960s and 1970s. After a taking a little time off from playing (about 30 years), he decided it was time to dust off his guitar and play again, this time as a solo act. According to Johnathan, the difference between playing solo and with other band members is that there is no more complaining about practice, or not showing up on time for a performance.

In all, you are sure to enjoy a total musical experience that will take you back to a time of peace and love. Be sure to check out the demo songs below for a sampling of what you will hear. Hope to see you soon!

Personal Credits

  • I would like to first of all thank my wonderful wife, Kim. Without her love, encouragement, and support throughout the years, none of this would have been possible. I don't know how she endured     listening to my daily practice of the same songs over and over again, but she did! She must be some kind of saint.
  • To my good friend and brother-in-law,Randy, who has given me his sound musical advice and encouragement throughout the years.
  • Thanks to Debbie for initiating that first phone call, the one that was the catalyst for me recording my first promotional demo CD.
  • I would like to thank Michelle and Jeff for all of their support at the Sanford Farmer's Market. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get out and start playing again.
  • To my new friends at the Maitland Farmer's Market, Cheryl and Mari. Thank you for having the courage to book me without an audition. I had a great time and look forward to playing for you again!
  • And of course, I want to thank my good friend William who has attended all of my performances with much enthusiasm! Maybe I can get him to bring his guitar and play a song with me sometime.
